COPYRIGHT
Copyright is a set of rules that regulate the rights granted by law to the creators of artistic works, whether musical, literary, cinematographic, or computer-based. It grants natural or legal persons who wish to register their works full protection and rights of use so that the work is not plagiarized or misused by third parties. It also protects the author against piracy and ensures that they receive compensation for their work through recognition and fair financial compensation.
The application for registration of COPYRIGHT AND RELATED RIGHTS must be submitted to the competent national office of the National Intellectual Property Service and must be accompanied by:
- Power of Attorney: In cases where the applicant is represented, in accordance with the provisions of these regulations.
- SENAPI service fees: Proof of payment of the established fees.
- Publication fees: Official Gazette of Bolivia.
We will advise you on your best protection option, taking into account the international conventions in force at any given time, and we will take the necessary steps before the National Intellectual Property Service or the competent national intellectual property trademark office in the country of interest, using the legal channels established in each case.
MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE OF COPYRIGHT AND RELATED RIGHTS
Regarding monitoring, we offer a permanent monitoring service for all new applications for Copyright and Related Rights published in the Official Gazette of Bolivia and continuously in the various national official bulletins. We inform our clients of any potential conflicts with these applications through the legal channels established in the corresponding legislation.
Regarding maintenance, we constantly monitor copyrights throughout their legal life to notify you in advance of the steps to be taken to maintain them in force, pay fees, and file declarations of use with the National Intellectual Property Service.
Registration of Literary Works: Novels, poems, plays, films, theses, etc.
Registration of Artistic Works: Drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, architectural designs, etc.
Registration of Scientific Works: Monographs, manuals, journal articles, research papers, and educational works. Doctoral theses, master’s theses, undergraduate theses.
Related rights registration: Performances, executions, and recordings, among others, made by artists, performers (singers, dancers, musicians, declaimers, and others); producers of phonograms or recordings; and video and film producers. Radio and television broadcasting organizations (natural and/or legal persons who broadcast their radio and television programs). Editors, proofreaders, and layout artists (people who work with a written work).
Thesis registration: This ensures that your thesis will not be plagiarized, acknowledging the authorship of your ideas, the information on which your thesis is based, and monographs and others.
